Trackbar and control arm length
I'm redoing the suspension on my 2012 Jeep Jk 2 dr sport. And I'm looking for what should the starting point lenght be on my adjustable control arms and track bars?
What lenght and brand track bars should I look for? I'm going to use the track bar axle brackets that are already installed from when I put in my Rough Country 3.5" series 2 lift.
I can do a striaght drag link or stick with bent one?
I got the following for my rebuild
- all 8 adjustable control arms that are johnny joints on the ends
- currie 4" 2dr plus 1 coil springs
- rear Tatton driveshaft to go with the front one I already have installed
- Rear Anti-rock swaybar to go with the front one I already installed
- Bilstien 5100 shocks
- set of 5 Bead locks rims and 37" Copper discoverer STT
I already regeared to 4:88 with truetrac in the front grizzily in the rear and Sleeved and gusseted front axle.
Anything else I should looking in to getting or doing?
Thanks
Peter

The proper way to set control arm lengths on a lifted rig is to put the arms and bump stop extensions on without the upper bump stop cushion, springs or shocks. Raise the axle with floor jacks on either side and adjust the lower control arm forward or back in order to center the upper & lower bumpstops. Make sure both arms the same length when you're done. Reinstall the rest of the suspension components and set your caster/pinion angle with the upper control arm adjustments.
As for track bars, center the axles under the rig by picking a corresponding spot on the side of the frame on either side, measure from that spot to the side of the tire on either side and adjust until the difference is reasonably the same. On a JK I like to get it within 1/8" on either side. Bear in mind this changes slightly with with load, as the axles will move laterally as the load increases. Use your best judgement as to how much load you'll normally be carrying. I usually try to adjust with my nornal trail gear on board and at least 1/2 tank of fuel.
Hope ths helps!
