Trackbar problems
Well, I've been steaming about some noises coming from under my jeep since having 4wheelparts install my simple Teraflex Leveling Kit.
I finally pinpointed where the noises are coming from. The rear (stock) trackbar mount (passanger side). It's held on my a loose bolt/nut. I could physically move the trackbar itself up and down with my own strengh, and if you rocked the Jeep, it would just jiggle around and move freely. Not good (at least would make sense).
1. Any idea why 4wheelparts and there so called professional installers would even be adjusting the rear trackbar
2. How tight should both ends be (ft/lbs)
I'm completely disgusted with 4wheelparts right now. They installed this and left me with a dangerous riding jeep
Not sure that they did the alignment properly (steering wheel has a good amount of play all the sudden)
They also installed Hella Black Magics and put one on bent off to the side an inch (looks like crap)
And decided to wire them to only work with my high beams only (makes no sense considering they are mounted on the windshield channel, therefore will be used off road only). I don't use high beams off road much......

That sucks man. Im surprised you only noticed when you looked, a rear track bar that loose could cause the whole Jeep to shake in the rear or even cause death wobble.
The track bar ends need to be tightened to 125 ft lbs. Use a torque wrench for this with an extension.
Also, tell me something... what kind of jokes did you tell to get your track bar to giggle so much?

I told it jokes about the punks at 4wheelparts that are trying to get me killed. So both ends 125 ft/lbs eh?
I'm wondering if the play in the steering is actually the rear axle shifting....Hmmmmmm
Is that the new Schoolgirl brand trackbar? I wondered if the giggles would be obnoxious? Before you torque the bar down, I would pull it out and check the bracket. Make sure the hole is not an oval.
I'll tighten to a good amount then take it down to them to fix all their problems. FREAKING IDIOTS!!!! They owe me (even though I'm sure they won't do a damn thing...)

If it was me, I'd buy a torque wrench and go over the suspension, use some of the write ups on hear and the torque specs. Make a list of everything that was not torqued to spec and how long it took you to do it. Write them out a bill for your time and deduct it off your labor you paid them. You may not get anything out of it, but the look on their face would be priceless, plus, you will have learned a little more about working on your own jeep. Plus, I wouldn't let em touch it again ever.
They may have tightened it when they installed and it worked itself loose. I have friends who owned a shop lifting vehicles and they would have the customers come back after 1500 miles or so and get everything re-torqued.

That is exactly what it is I had the frame side FT bracket break on the rear twice. It would still hold but would allow the axel to move 3/4 inch. Both time it broke I could tell because as the rear would move the steering wheel would end up out of line and my esp light would come on. I got rid of the FT bracket by the way.
