Trail Dash 2.....issues!!
I am having problems loading performance tunes from the unit to the pcm! Does anyone have the trail dash 2? My problem is when I go to load a tune it asks me to turn the ignition off and press the screen. It then says checking DTCs and after that it says to turn the ignition back on. I do and press the screen and it then states clearing DTCs then after a few a seconds it says operation failed. Ive tried different tunes and all end up the same. My question is when you guys load a tune does it try to clear DTCs before bootloading? I have calls into superchips and currently working with tech support but I go to work at 5am and get off at 2 pm and those are their hours. The last thing I can add is when it is clearing dtcs before failure the abs light flashes and the esp/bas and esp squiggly light come on. When the jeep is running.... nothing, no codes no nothing. I only have 26K miles on this jeep and wondering what the heck is going on. Last question when you guys turn your key to run is your check engine light on? mine goes off as soon as the jeep starts. Just checking if thats normal. I am new to the forum and thank you guys for the support.

So it's saying "then states clearing DTCs then after a few a seconds it says operation failed"... have you checked to see if you have DTC that isn't clearing?

Did you hook it up to your desk/laptop computer to check for any updates before doing all this?
And for your last question, I believe all my dash lights come on when I go to start the engine.....it's like a system check.

when I check for DTCs on the unit it says I have none. Doing the three click Jeep DTC check it says done, nothing else. I have plugged the unit into fusion software, it states no update needed. I guess ill try and call superchips again on lunch tomorrow. Only option I have. Fusion software pulled all my info off of the unit when I plugged in tonight per request by superchips. They will have someone look over it to see why its failing to load. Unless there is a stored abs code I dont know what is going on, but you think a stored abs code would light up something on the dash when running, all my lights go out when running. Whats also weird is when the unit is trying to start a tune install, No Bus pops up in the odometer area, but once again...no codes and my dash works flawlessly. I am trying to believe its a software issue, guess im just looking for moral support now haha.

Mine clears the DTC codes after the performance tune is installed.

I know on my LS both HPTuner and EFILive won't load a tune if there is a DTC on the engine.

They both will go through the load and then act like they clean up any DTCs resulting from the change. Right, wrong or indifferent, that's what both of mine do.

I have a 14 jk polar edition. I have rigged ridge dual battery setup on m.o.r.e dual battery tray. I have gutted my pioneer stock system for a pioneer avic-6000nex. I also have fortin remote start. I only have a tpms sensor light on because I run 32psi. I bought a trail dash 2 and having similar problems. When I first tried hooking trail dash 2 up to me jeep it took about 10 times before the trail dash 2 to recognize my jeep. It still recognizes it about 50% of the time & others it tells me contact tech support. I tried to install crawl tune or 87 and always tells me operation failed. I have uploaded my trail dash to the computer and updated at least 2 updates super chips sends me. I hate waiting 30-40 minutes on hold to get ahold of a tech. Once I do all the do is tell me it's my aftermarket radio or remote start messing with the trail dash 2. They then put me on hold for 10 minutes and say they will call me back but never do when an update is available. Only way I know is randomly hook trail dash 2 up to fusion to get the update. I'm very upset & have tried removing my remote start but no dice there so put it back in. So I'm at the point do I return the damn thing & find something else or will they be able to get it working? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
