i have the rugged ridge hitch. although their harness is really good, the hitch has some major QC issues. the outer sleeve is welded like crap and makes it look crooked. the weld has sharp, jagged spikes where you can really do damage to your hands, and not to mention, the nuts arent welded on like the picture advertises. so you have to either remove the bumper or finagle the washers and nuts in a half inch of clearance. i'm going for mopar

I have the same hitch and didn't notice any weld issues. The nuts are not that bad if you tape the washers to the hitch before putting it under the jeep. I installed mine in less than 30min without removing the bumper.

I bought the Hidden Hitch brand specifically because in all the pics I saw online, the chinese Rugged Ridge/Smittybilt hitch looked like it was welded by a high school shop class. Also, the SB/RR hitch is designed so that the safety chain attach points are directly underneith the pin hole and that can be a pain. Finally, the RR/SB hitch doesn't stick out quite as far. This can lead to issues with the spare tire, depending on how your trailer's dolly is set up.

So I got the Hidden Hitch and Hidden Hitch wiring harness ($90 total) and couldn't be happier so far. Installation took 10 minutes. The hardest part was dropping the muffler for easier access to torque the bolts.

I would go with the Mopar hitch and harness. Installs very easy no need to drop your muffler or tape nuts and washers on it . Install took about 30 min on mine.

I got the Smittybilt hitch and Rigged Ridge wiring harness from Amazon for $72 shipped to my door. I read about the issues with the welds but mine looks great. I loosened four bolts for the rear plastic bumper to allow room to install. No issue.

I had good luck with the Rugged Ridge hitch and harness. When installing I found that it's much easier if you use some double stick tape to hold the washers in place on the nut side.
