Tranny sending unit to fan?
I have a 2007 Unlimited X with a automatic and was just wondering if the tranny has a sending unit to the fan if it gets too hot? For example if your rock crawling there is no airflow to the cooler and it needs flow does the fan kick in or does the tranny just get hot?

The tranny just gets hot. It's highly advisable to add an auxiliary cooler to the vehicle to cool the fluid. They can come with or without fans to add extra cooling to the system.
If you allow the fluid to get too hot and boil then you'll fry your transmission....please don't do that.

The transmission temp is monitored and the PCM will turn on the fan when a transmission overheat condition is detected.
Even when the fan comes on, it's not that good at lowering the temp as the cooler is at the bottom of the A/C condenser.
