Price depends on whether you are buying a new or used transmission. There is a lot of stuff you need. Mine used to be a manual so when I did the Chev conversion I sold the entire package to a guy installing a VW TDi diesel in there.
You need:
Flywheel, FW bolts, clutch, throw-out bearing, clutch fork, fork pivot, crank pilot bearing, bellhousing dust cover, Slave cylinder, hose, Master Cylinder, Transmission, gear lever, foam seal, Rubber inner boot, gear shift dust boot and trim ring, console bottom mounting plate, console top finishing plate, clutch and brake pedals, pedal shaft, 1 extra shaft circlip - I think I got it all other than things like rear engine tranny mount may still be good and small wiring changes for the clutch start interlock.
If your tranny is used then you should take it apart and check bearings, seals, synchros etc. Budget price for parts new (incl Trans) is about $5500-6000. Are you doing the labor? Cause that is not factored in here.

Neville- the only way I remember this is because when I did my Chev conversion I went from manual to auto so I remember the parts lying in boxes after the conversion. And luck has it the whole setup was sold to a guy here in AB doing a TDI VW conversion in his JK auto.

If you do decide to go through with the swap, do not use the factory shifter. It should have been recalled a decade ago but it wasn’t. It has a habit of making you think you are engaged in a gear when it is not. There is very few things more painful feel than your baby dropping out of gear.

To avoid that ‘popping out of gear’ issue, I installed the B&M Short Throw Sport Shifter with the B&M Shifter Lever.

Completely different experience driving the JK now, shifting into gear feels very ‘positive’ and the throw is only about half (maybe less) than the factory. I wil say though - quite a bit of effort is needed to find some of the gears - nothing ya can’t get used to though .....

The B&M shifter lever is awesome - a bit shorter than the factory lever with a completely different contour.

I installed both. Unfortunately the lever from B&M failed after 6 months on mine.
