I got a second generation Trek Top from another forum member, installed it, and really like it. I find it quiet (yes, quieter than my stock soft top), and I took a water hose to it and tried to find a leak, but could not get water inside, so I am very pleased with it.

My question is this: What the heck are those little strap loops hanging off the rear where the top meats the body on the sides and back for?

They are annoying to me, so if they have no use I may cut them off. I don't want to cut them off if they have a legitimate use.

 

yup...those are the ones...
boy do I feel silly. Makes sense, though I would never have thought of that.
I think I will leave them
