trek top question
customer service at quadratec said they can be used. Would that be correct? I have the trek top now and was going to pick up a set of the factory surrounds thinking they may work better and be of higher quality and help stop water from running in around the surrounds that the top came with. I have the new version of the trek top just for the record.

I found that the Trektop door surrounds are quite water tight with the full doors. I tried to get water in with a spray nozzle and could not get a drop inside. Some have leak issues, but you can also bend the mounting tabs a smidge to kinda custom fit the surrounds to the door.
I also found that I lost some annoying rattles once the stock surrounds were off.
I would be surprised if the stock ones work. but no harm in trying. Just don't discount the quality of the aftermarket. I find the entire set up quieter than the stock soft top...regardless of other's horror stories.
