Default Trektop NX help

I have a trektop NX that I bought second hand. I love it even though the back is a pain to get stuff in and out of. My concern is the cable on the passenger side is loose. I have moved the spring to the furthest position but there is still a gap. Is there a way to tighten the cable up from inside the header? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

Mine have always been tight on the first hole, make sure both cables are in the same holes, if everything looks good it might be broken. Sorry mate

Default NX Help

Is there a Crimp nut on the end of the cable (inside the spring)? You may be able to purchase another crimp nut and install it below the existing one. Sorry, I am out of town and can't remember how mine is attached...

As for difficulty getting into the back, what kind of tailgate bar do you have?

I have gone thru 2 NX tops. The first one had a single piece tailgate bar where the bar was physically rivetted to the mounting brackets. This was a pain to install and remove to access the back of the Jeep.

The second one I had, had the standard soft top type tailgate bar and is much easier to get into. You may want to purchase an aftermarket soft top tailgate bar set up.

Good luck.

I might be able to get a crimp on it if it will come past the spring. Thanks for the input, I have only been thinking about it from the header side. As for the tailgate bar I have the second one and its not that bad. Just takes longer than with the hard top. Especially when trying to keep two roust dogs in.
