as I said earlier i'm happy with the setup. just not the sound. but as mcaden said. It hopefully might get a bit loader.

Both companies offer really good customer service and tech support. I called XDI for some questions about the installation and the guy who actually did make the intake was on the phone. he told me that I should get 10hp on the intake. and the guys at magna said the same thing on hp and 12 on tq

so 20 hp. which I don't think is significantly noticeable but it's there

The intake has an amazing sound, it looks sexy under the hood. and I think it's worth the dime

cheers

Yeah from the install pics I seen I've gotta agree, they do look good. The magnaflow seems like one of if not the best exhaust out there for the JK. Is the magna muffler smaller than the stock? Thanks for the info man

Default Magnaflow Muffler - Smaller than Stock

Yes, the Magnaflow muffler is considerably smaller than the stock muffler and once the stock exhaust is out, which is a trick in itself, it is a breeze to install. I even did the install at night in my driveway (check out Magnaflow's website).

As for power gains, mine is a 2 door and I remember hearing the intake really kick in between 3-4 RPMs. After I installed the exhaust it seemed to increase through out the band. However, I have not dynoed her to see where she is at in HP or Torque. Right now, my performance is a little better due to the cold weather but this should change once spring arrives and the temp increases.

With a 4 door you may not see a significant gain in power depending on your setup. I have since lifted her 3.5 inches and added 35s, which has dropped my power, especially in the higher gears (she tends to crawl if I shift too soon).

I would strongly suggest the exhaust for anyone who is looking to upgrade as you will receive some type of gain even if it is not what is quoted on the manufacturers site. Magnaflow really does make a high quality product and its got a lifetime warranty, you'll never need another exhaust.

Hopefully, you'll like what you hear.

I have an Issue with my Engine ticking all the time. I don't know if it's the same as the headers crack that some people were complaining about here or not. My dealer replaced some engine parts. but still no luck. noise is still there. and on a cold start it is super Irritating. It gets really load and then back to the same old crappy clicking!
I'm sorry, but I am not familar with the ticking in the engine. If you do happen to have a crack in your header, you can replace them with Banks' TorqueTube Headers. They are little pricey but come with a limited lifetime warranty and should add a little bit of sound to that exhaust. You can check out the installation guide & owners manual on their website. This just might be my next power upgrade to make up for the lift and tires.

The only noise issue I had coming from the engine compartment was a whistle from the intake. A few months after the installation it went way and has not come back.

your right but the tip it's self is longer. mine is having contact with my PureJeep rear bumper. So I need to find a way to fab it.

This could possibly be the fasteners for the intake. make sure they are all in place and tight.

last time the dealer checked on my Jeep for that ticking noise. they said it was the lifters! some of them were not set correctly from the factory. so they replaced them. the ticking didn't go away. so they said oh it's the timers they are not set correctly. every time I go in it's something new! this issue was noted on my jeep since the 3rd day of owning it. that was on dec. 14th 2007 we had three chrysler field engineers inspect it. and all they said is that it's normal

what they don't realize is that if they start another JK. they will not hear that freaking TICK!

I'll have some sound clips of it and start a thread in the stock section. I hope no one has the issue, but if so. it will be there for reference and or maybe get some help from the cool guys on the forum

If the ticking is really bad when its cold, and gets a little better once it heats up, its almost gotta be a crack in one of your exhaust manifolds.
