Man, here's a club I wish I didn't get to join.

2013 JKU 3.5" Rubicon Express lift, 3" extended bumpstops, 37" Cooper STT Pro's

Artec truss installed by a professional offroad shop on a Dana 30

First time out with the new setup, hit a big hole that I didn't see in dusk conditions and pile drive the front end. And then...

So your truss hit the pan? Looks like you made an assumption about bumpstop rather than exercising the suspension and checking for sure. That sucks bad. I hope you got it shut off before damage to the engine!!

Truss work requires full suspension cycling before going offroad. It's practical to increase your bumpstop from factory to 2-3" extra to prevent that from happening to the oil pan. I run the full Artec 1ton axle swap kit front and rear which includes massive trusses and they fit fine with the additional 3" of bumpstop. Luckily that's a rather easy fix on both parts. and I concur, it's a crappy club to be a member of.

I did a little more than assume, by measuring all the deltas between the jounce bumper (with some compression tolerance) and added bumpstop vs the truss to engine. I hit this hole very hard (on accident) and must have completely flattened the foam jounce bumper to make that much contact...not something I could reproduce on the ground simply "exercising" the system. Physics just overcame geometry on that one. But, luckily it's a easy fix. I'll add some more bump stop and throw a rubber bumper across the top of the truss just to make me feel better.

In hind sight this is all incredibly obvious, but had this welded on by a very reputable 4x4 shop, while I was only running a Teraflex leveling kit (now have 3.5" RE lift)...the shop didn't say jack to me about decreased clearances or adding any bumpstop. That's a little scary.
