I don't even have the stick nuts(?) on there. They'd have to break in and open the doors anyway.

X2
I guess it depends on where you are though. I took those nuts off when I bought the jeep and tossed them. I'd hate for someone to steal them but that's what insurance is for.

Well... I'm driving the Jeep down to Mexico. Going to be there for almost 4 months. I've recently installed the locking fuel door... the locking hood latches and locking lug nuts on every lug. Going down with the soft top... so would be an easy break-in. All these locking devices are just deterrents, I know. I was just wondering if the Tuffy door locks were any good.

I'd leave the stock nuts on and let it go. You might be better off with a proximity alarm than locking nuts.

I've heard of a couple people who got them, and then they seized themselves onto the hinge and required some work to get them off. I have the McGard ones on mine and I like them a lot.

Hadn't heard of the McGards. Looking at their website they say that the steel is so hard they cannot be "gripped" with say a good pair of vice grips. Do you agree? I suppose if you could clamp down a small pair of vice grips... there really isn't much room to turn the nuts without tearing up the side of the jeep.

The outisde of them has a separate black cover that just spends, so if someone attempted to grab them with pliers, it's just going to spin and not let them take the locknuts off.
