Thumbs up Tuffy Security Glove Box

Some of you might remember my Wrangler had it's glove box destroyed by a jerk that though he'd steal my owners manual. The latch was broken as was the handle and the top of the box was damaged from being pried open. I rigged it shut until Tuffy came out with their replacement. I got mine today.

Their customer service was perfect. I'm typically disappointed in customer service but theirs has been outstanding thus far. If this is typical I'll be ordering from them again (thanks Eric).

Installation was a 1 beer job. It took longer to find a 7mm socket than it did to install the box. Construction is very strong and seems very tight. There isn't any play in the latch. The color is very close, much closer than the pics show but could be a little better. The thing feels indestructible, much better than the cheap plastic one.

My owners manual is now safe.

Did you buy from the Tuffy website? I didn't even see a JK glovebox on their site.

No cutting at all. There is an optional step to drill one hole that I didn't do. I may do it later, looks very easy.

I didn't compare it to the stock box. I only used the stocker a couple of times before it was broken so I don't have a good feel for size. I'll take a look after work.

I contacted Tuffy via email some time ago inquiring about the box. They called me when they were ready to take my order.

It was cheap but I'll leave it up to Tuffy to advertise their price.

It does rattle a bit on washboard roads but other than that, still good as new.

Mine seems to be rattling at the latch...I'm going to try to make another adjustment but I bought some of those things you put on chair legs to keep them from scratching your floors. I figured they might keep it snug in place and keep it silent. :
I ended up putting a strip of foam rubber along the top, but what really was making the most noise was all the stuff rattling around inside. I've been lining it with that real thin shipping foam rubber stuff as I get other stuff for the Jeep.
