Default To tune or Not to tune?

About to do a re-gear and just curious about tuners. Any suggestions? In the past all that was really needed was a SuperLift True Speed module.... What is the best tuner these days?

It really depends on what you're doing with your JK and what year it is. ProCal will get your speedometer for gears and new tires, I prefer to call it a calibrator as it doesn't add any performance. As for the programmers, there are 3 of them, Superchips, Hypertech and BullyDog. I like my Superchips a lot and haven't looked back, into my third year with it. As for a true tuner there is one from DiabloSport. If you are looking at something like long tube headers or other not so typical upgrades this is the only way to fly. Will require some third party work to tune your JK.

I love my superchips. I like the crawl tune off road. I run 93 the rest of the time.

I bought a ProCal as a temporary fix until I can afford the Superchip. (Less time being yelled at for $100 than for $300, lol)

My Superchips does not result in pinging. I'm running the 91 tune w/ 93 octane gas. I may bump up to the 93 tune to give it a shot soon.

I just sold my superchip. After taking it off and going back to the AEV I notices that the superchip added no power that was noticeable. I would buy the Aev and save money for other mods. Just my opinion.

I defiantly noticed a boost in pep running the 93 tune in the summer. When winter came the pep disappeared. As of now I 87 in the winter and 93 in the summer. I do notice a significant difference with the 93.
