Default Under Hood Light Solution!

The wife and I went to Sam's Club tonight and I found I cool Bright LED light to use under the hood! They come in White, Black and Brushed aluminum.
They are 24 dollars for 3 and the batteries are included.. The cool part is no switch to hunt for in the dark they have a motion sensor! You just need to pass your hand in front of it and it lights in 2 different settings Mid\High\Off.

Another nice feature is it has a aluminum housing with a magnet on the back so it you need to move it you can just slide it out from under the heat shield and place it anywhere.

Heres the pics.

What is really strange is that there is a grounding strap from the hood to the body, yet there are no electronics on the hood. What's up with that?

I think they just keep forgetting to add the durn hood light. :(

I think that might help prevent static electricity.

Good point never understood why they do that. My Mustang has a strap as well but the hood light has is own ground into the factory harness so no need for the strap.

Anybody know why?

Have to keep all the metal parts grounded to keep everything at the "same potential". Also... the first JKs came with hood lights.

That could make sense but the doors and rear doors are not strapped.

Mine has a production date of 1/07, and no under hood light.
