Unlimited Springs on a 2dr
I recently installed the 2.5 BB with unlimmited Rubicon shocks and coils. I did get an extra lift (with the coils)and my jk is level.
Im not really sure why it would rake more than the usual factory rake... to me it seems it would just sit a little taller and the rake would continue to appear, no more prevelant than before.

I have heard rumours (and chime in if you can confirm) that there are various spring rates and numbers just to allow that every Jk (some are heavier than others) to sit at the same height off the lot.

One thing I've learned with every model, JK included, is that NO two jeeps are EVER identical....everything varies, even the locations of mounting holes, etc.
I think its just a supplier thing...so they know who's coils went on, etc.
The shared part #'s are correct, they mix and match whatever they need to to get the JK's out the door.

There ARE some part #'s that are not shared over the full spectrum...but you go blind reading the list to see the differences/exceptions, etc.
Essentially, the Saharas, X's and Rubicons share the same coils...the Rubicon gets different SHOCKS always (Monotubes). The Unlimiteds of each do get stiffer coils (Higher spring rate) to handle the extra weight, polar moment, etc.
The SHOCKS do not change the ride height, and have zero influence on lift, they only damp motion....and the Rubi's monotubes damp motion better than the standard twin tubes, because monotubes are better shocks than twin tubes.
The Rubi's shocks are the same length as the other shocks though....so there's no extra articulation with them either.
So - its possible to get more lift from Unlimited coils on a 2 dr....as the higher spring rate will hold more weight with less compression.
As the coils vary so much from supplier to supplier, theyare shipped in sets, so that the 4 for your JK are supposed to match factory specs as a set, for rake, etc.
Randomly swapping in PART of a set, or parts from more than one set, etc...can result in an off balance rig, as in higher front than rear difference, side to side, etc....or more or less of a difference than expected from the swap, etc.
In a couple weeks, I will replace my front 2dr Rubi springs with 4dr Rubi springs to reduce/eliminate the rake from my front bumper/winch. I thought I would try this approach instead of adding a 2nd spacer on top of my 2.5" Teraflex BB spacer. I will post the results in 2-3 weeks.
Thanks.

If you replace your stock springs with Rubicon springs, you will gain .5 inches of lift. This can also work for a sagging front end. I ended up buying OME front coils to get rid of my low front end. If anyone wants 2.5 front spacers, pm me.
