Default Upgrade Time: Input Needed

I've got some cash (~$1000) and am looking to do some upgrades, just not exactly sure what to spend it on yet. I'd like to strengthen my rig so I'm not worried about breakages in the future and so I can also run it decently hard without worry. Also looking to smooth out my ride as that's why I'm thinking of the ELKAs.

Below is what I'm currently running:

4" Rough Country Lift w/ fixed Control Arms
35" KM2s
JKS Quick Discos
Teraflex Draglink Flip
Teraflex Frame Brace
Teraflex Monster Track Bar
OR-Fab Front & Rear Bumpers & Tire Carrier
Tom Woods front shaft
Onboard CO2
Garvin Roof Rack
Will have 5.13 gears soon from other funds as well

Here are the things I'm considering doing:

• C2s and Magnum Sleeves
• ELKA Shocks
• EVO Plush Springs
• Tom Woods Rear Shaft
• Adj. Control Arms (If I got a new rear shaft I'd need these)
• Adj. Rear Trackbar (to center axel with the frame)

Any thoughts would be appreciated from people who have been in the same boat as me, or just what anyone thinks would be great.

Thanks.

I vote winch or a rear selectable locking differential.

Heh, thanks for the suggestion but neither of those help with the areas I'm hoping to strengthen.

My vote goes towards c gussets and sleeves. With the remaining cash I would invest in armor such as diff covers, control arm skids etc.

You can get a used rear track bar drop bracket for about $30. This will center your rear axle.

I'd get the C reinforcements.

I'd use the rest of the money to get a rear selctable locker while you are re-gearing to 5.13s. If you are talking about being more capable, part of that means having the capability to run the more challenging trails. A rear locker will get you there!

One alternative is stronger rear shafts for greater reliability back there. Remember that the bulk of your load is carried by the rear axle, not the front.

Front axle strength and rear trackbar. I too think winch to consider, as I have used mine and man I'm glad I had it!

I am a horrible person. So strength, I would get the C gussets for the front axle then start looking for skid plate protection that you don't already have. Some strong differential covers.

I'll make another vote for the rear locker since you are re-gearing anyway.

Oh, get the track bar if your rear axle is that much off center. Personally that would bug me.

Anyone know what the added cost of a rear locker is? I thought it was around $1000 or so

As nice as a locker would be, I don't think I'd get much use out of it and I think that much money would better serve me elsewhere. Like a new rear driveshaft and 4 adjustable control arms. Who knows.

$754.99 for an Eaton E-Locker from 4WD. I am sure one of the forum sponsors would match or do better than that price.
