upgrades
hi I am new to this forum and also a new wrangler owner. I am curious if there are any complete package deals concerning upgrades for my jeep. I want to do it all. lift kit, wheels, bumpers. I was just wondering if there is a shop near me in Houston that lists packages like for instance calloway for vettes or Hennessey performance and others. I can find lift kits and bumpers and wheels and tires but was just curious if there are shops that have an all in one package.

If it's for looks, then any of those types of packages will work. If you are looking for something more functional, then I recommend you wheel it as is for a bit so you get a feel for the jeep and what you like / want to do with your jeep.
I am definitely wanting functionality if I spend the money. I also like the looks of the lift and bigger tires. I have always wanted a wrangler and now I got it for work and for hunting. When I go hunting there isn't a lot of rock crawling or climbing up steep grades or going over tree trunks, just some mud and stuff. However if the bug bites me (as I know it very well may) I want that option. The AEV packages are very impressive but the price is pretty high. I will probably wind up piecing this all together to save money but I was curious about complete package type builds to see if maybe there was any benefit at all. I sure do appreciate the comments and the advice. I surely do not want to go down the wrong path on this idea and wind up with something I am not happy with.

General rule of thumb is the higher the lift, the more parts you have to modify or replace.
This get's pretty deep the further into the posts you read, but it's a great bit of knowledge.

Oh yes I can definitely do the work. My father owned a transmission repair shop when I was growing up and I became a rebuilder out of high school for many years. I rebuilt transmissions and differentials and other things so I know my way around an automobile. I was just wondering about the packages to see what my best route to go would be. I have always been into drag racing and street performance so off-roading is kinda out of my wheelhouse. I'm learning on the fly. I didn't realize there was so many options and so many different manufacturers for this sorta thing. It's a little overwhelming for a newbie. I have knowledge about gear ratios and suspension stuff just not so much pertaining to off-roading as much as I do for drag racing or street performance.
Don't get in a rush, and don't base the decision off of just a few posts giving a recommendation or take what one salesman says as gospel. DO The Research!! Figure out what lift height will work with the tire size and fender flares you want to run. What the various components actually do, so you know why they might be wanted/needed. (if you find a 'package', you still want to know what is actually in the lift!) What to expect from your stock gears and the new tire size with your particular engine/transmission/location. etc. etc. As noted above, Dirtmans overview is a good place to start.
Once you have a handle on that stuff and a better idea of where you want to end up, start talking to a few of the forums vendors about member discounts and package deals. (not talking about finding a 'package' on their website, but telling them everything you want and seeing what they can do for you...) There are many vendors to choose from, but I have ordered through Marcus at River City Offroad and the guys at Northridge 4x4 and would recommend checking with both.

see what you need vs what you think you need. To gradually add stuff is a better way i feel
no lift , 33s/
lifts and big tires are over rated lol just lead to problems and $$$$
its all in what you need
