Default Viair 20003

I'm going crazy researching and trying to figure out an onboard air system that fits my needs (fill 33" tires and run a few small air tools).

I know that I don't want a portable C02 bottle that needs to be refilled.

I've been looking at the Viair setups and was leaning in that direction then I came across this Viair 20003. Anybody running this setup?

What's your price range? If you can spare the $500, get an ARB twin. Tiny (I run tankless), fits under your passenger seat, doesn't get very hot, runs 100% duty cycle @100 psi. I fill 37's and run tools off just the compressor. However, if your not the "buy once, cry once" type, then what's your budget?

$200 to $300 is about what I was planning.

Decided to pull the trigger on this setup and ordered it from Quadratec along with the mounting bracket from Dominion that will attach to the front frame rail between the radiator and the motor. According to Joe from Quadratec, this should fit without any problem.

I'll do a full write up on this once it's installed.

I finally got my brackets from Dominion--they were on backorder for a few months. So today after an unplanned starter install on my wife's XJ, I was already dirty and figured, I might as well go ahead and install the OBA that's been sitting in my office since early March.

The brackets from Dominion are well made and fit perfectly, but the U-bolts they send with them are a little questionable. I broke one without too much effort using a regular ratchet and not a lot of force at all. Good thing I had a spare or two laying around.

My son took a few pics of the install (Ansel Adams he is not ). I added a pressure regulator to the setup and within the next few weeks, I'll add a gauge inside the cab too.

I'm currently using an old beat up yellow 25' coil air hose from the tank to the frame rail, but I think I'll find a shorter hose from an ARB kit and make it a little prettier to look at. I have a 25' black GoodYear air hose in the back that connects to the yellow hose and can get around the jeep without too much trouble.

Once I'm completely finished with the project, I'll do a write up and get more detailed pics.
