I don't see the logic in this.

Also the factory air box does not allow water to splash directly into the filter like your current setup.

I don't think the temperature difference is significant. Where does the air go when it exits the radiator on a stock Jeep? IMO, it just swirls around the engine compartment and eventually makes its way out the bottom. Is your airbox warm or even hot to the touch when you're wheeling? Without inner fenders, I think I'm at least as well off. Since I can't get a dwarf to ride around under the hood with a thermometer, and I doubt you can either, I guess we'll just have to leave it theoretical.

The Outerwears prevents splash on the filter itself. It works. It's been on there over a year and a half. I like 'em on my truck, too.

Here's the deal, I changed out the filter because I didn't think the OEM hose/coupler worked well w/ the VTB. When I reverted back to the original TB, I changed to a smaller coupler and left it on. I've seen zero negative impact and it frees up a big chunk of real estate under the hood. Right now, my PA is there, but the space could be used for more useful things like a 2nd battery or a tool box. I see no advantage to a setup that uses a pipe to relocate over the OEM location. It's simple, cheap, and easy. I just thought I'd throw it out there to the guy that asked about a different intake. Cheers.

The Superchips tuner already leans out the tune and a bigger throttle body will lean it out even more. Using a handheld tuner in itself is borderline 'silly' since every engine reacts different. This is why you see so many Superchips pinging threads.

I trust you guys with suspension mods, but JK owners are 10-years behind in engine tech. Throttle body and plenum/intake spacers? Come on guys, that garbage was proven to be an expensive paperweight back in the early 2000s and in most cases, slow you down. Also, I've never seen so many CAI threads since trolling the Honda forums almost 10 years ago.

The 3.8L is a turd. Leave the damn thing alone. Accept it and move on. It's a Wrangler, focus on the suspension and gearing and you will be fine.

I did a pretty thorough job checking this thread and didn't ee anything on the 2012s. Anyone out there know if the viper works on the pentastar? On a side note I have been told that the 2012s have a "learning" computer - if this is true it may not not to be tuned? or am I wrong. or is that totally off base? sorry I'm confused on that a little and not trying to hijack the thread just lookin for answers

The TB mod works on 2007-2010 The Max Energy has an option for the TB. Without adding TB tune the jeep can go into limp mode only when a consistent grade and throttle position is held. The limp mode will reset when you restart the jeep. I hope this helps answer your question.

I've been riding with mine for over a year, no codes and no problems. I also have SC tuner, using it on 89octane. Usually make 300m on a tank. Computer saids average is 18mpg. Don't believe it tho. Its still a brick on the road. Throttle response is alot better. Works best with factory aitbox, IMO.

So I'm guess there won't be a need to keep the Power aid Throttle body Spacer huh?
