Wanted to first thank everyone one, and I have "c" gussett question
I wanted to first thank everyone for posting so many quality suggestions and recommendations. By using the information, I was able to improve on my 2012 Rubicon's offroad capability. This is just the start as many of you already know! My c gussett question is about placement of the support. I purchased c gussets that I believe were designed for an older Dana 44. So the shop had to grind down the c gussett and I lost some length. Looking at the picture, should this be enough when using 35's?
I'm no engineer, but I'd guess that there has to be a reason EVO and others who make gussets for the JK 44 have them go all the way up. It also seems to me that the weak point would be higher up than the gusset you have.
I'd let someone else with more knowledge chime in though. Just my

my guess would be your c was already slightly bent and so the gusset didn't fit... you won't know for sure unless you put it on an alightnment rack. I bent my C with my stock 32's so its not that hard to believe it can happen. When I installed my gussets I had to grind mine a little to fit the current shape of the C. I don't use the same brand as you have so I don't know how aggressive they had to cut them.
I plan to correct the bend with some adjustable ball joins once I wear my OEM ones out... the alighnment isn't bad enough for me to lose any sleep over... just be glad you have the gussets now so its less likely to get any worse.

hey guy not tryin to be a smartalec but i wouldnt be so sure as to the quality of that welding job , at the bottom in the axle tube looks like maybe it didnt penetrate too well . and to be polite it doesnt look very professional . i know its possible to havestrong welds that arent textbook , but it just doesnt look like a real quality weld
What the heck does the gusset have to do with tire size? Isn't it the downward force of the vehicle or the slamming up of the wheel that will bend the C? The gussets do not appear to do anything to reinforce the C from bending forward or aft.
