Wanting to switch from 35's to 33's need advice!!
Maybe i missed it, but I dont think you've said what type of and width of tire you're running, just that they are 35s. I drive 102 miles, 5 days a week. Been running the same four bfg all terrain k/o 285/70/17 (E) for 3.5 years, 85k miles and its finally time to start thinking about replacing them. I reset my mpg counter every monday so i can get a more accurate reading on what kind of mpgs im really getting. On a good week, 20.5. On a windy week, 17.5
07 3.8 6 speed. The X factor: CAI, Performance Ignition, Flowmaster.
I put my money into engine performance, instead of gnarly tires.
IMHO, before you drop $300 per tire, consider getting a cheap set of 15 or 16" rims. Tires for these rims are much cheaper opposed to 17" rims. Had i known this 3.5 years ago when i dropped $2400 on rims and tires, i would of gotten 15 or 16" rims and saved money down the road!
Edit: i get 26mpg behind a semi LOL

I suggest an all terrain 285 for commuting. The E rating bfg gives a pretty stiff ride that you might not enjoy on your long commute. Michigan roads are horrible. I'm on mobile so i cant see your location. If you have good roads, you might be ok with an E tire.
Maybe find some cheap rims and keep those 315s for when you wanna take it out and play with it.
The bgf all terrain 285 measures 32.8 if i remember correctly. I highly recommend this tire, but there are lots of options available to you... really just a matter of what you want to spend and what you want to do.
If you're budget is an issue, like mine is, check out the Treadwright Warden. Same tread pattern as the bfg all terrain, but they are retreads. From what ive read, they are safe and reliable, and nearly half the cost. You could buy 5 of these for less than 4 bfgs, and have money left over for a second set of rims. I sold my factory 17s for $250 with tires mounted. Here in Michigan there are always take-offs available (yay AEV)
Personally i like the gap between my fenders and my 285s. I think my skyjacker 2.5" springs actually net closer to 3.5" of lift, even on my jku.
I keep meaning to/wanting to get a hypertec flashpaq, but again with the budget... so i cant really speak to its gains and benefits.

Well I had an echo before my wrangler, so after the gas price induced heart attack subsided, I mastered old-man-driving in a jiffy! I do 100km on straight highway and accelerate real slow.
Okay, troll alert:
OP....you didn't buy a Prius. You didn't buy your JK because you were really looking forward to the great gas mileage you would be getting. It's a JK my man. Stop worrying about your MPG and go have fun.
