Default Warn HS9500i Spool Direction

I have the Warn HS9500i winch on the front of my JK and am not sure that I have it spooled properly. Currently, the rope is coming from the top of the drum, however I'm thinking it should be from the bottom. Which way is correct?

I tried searching around for the manual, but had no luck in finding it.

Thanks for the help!

If the center line of the drum is higher than the fairlead, the cable comes from the bottom of the drum.

If the center line of the drum is lower than the fairlead, the cable comes from the top of the drum.

Post a picture of how you have it setup.

Agree with this, post a pic. Unless the winch is mounted backwards, you can't spool from the top (unless on the controller forward is actually what pulls it in, which is very wrong).

Just look at the drum, and see if the top or the bottom is more in line with the fairlead.

The parts diagram is on their website. I still have the paper copy of the manual, but haven't seen it online.
