Default Warn winch thoughts

What r your thoughts on the warn entry level vr10000 winch? I bought it and now I'm nervous it's not a good winch? And also is it waterproof?

Warm would not put their trusted name on a winch that wasn't reliable. Even at this low price point they are better than other entry level winches. It is not water proof, but sealed from the elements. Unless you plan on recovering submarines you're gtg.

Default WARN(ing)

Warn makes great products..... However, be cautious of their rebate(bait) offers. I purchased a new Powerplant 12,000 winch (the one with the integrated air compressor), sent in for my rebate almost one year ago now and STILL have not received it. I just hope that if/when it needs service they do not exhibit this same tactic.

Just sayin'

No doubt it is a fine unit. But for the extra 200 bucks or so I would have bought the Zeon with the steel cable on it. Those are rated as waterproof not just weather proof. They are also a bit heavier built. Im sure what you have will be fine but for all the money we spend on mods whats another 200 bucks right.

That's where I'm at right now. Stuck between either getting the VR-10000s or the Zeon 8000s for about $200 more (the rebate is higher on the Zeon).

Any thoughts?
