I'm with ya... Except mine happened on the trail.. Had to smack it back with a rock while trying to stand on 3 wheels.. Fun..

I installed Teraflex 2.5" BB with Shocks today! Well, unlike most of you guys, I personally didn't install the kit... local 4 Wheel Parts store installed it for me. I got the kit (with shocks) form a friend of a friend for $100! He got the lift kit as a gift but he actually wanted a Full Traction lift. What a bargain! 4 Wheel Parts charged about $350 for labor though.

Anyway, everything is perfect! I saw this post last night. So, I made sure the Sway Bar Disconnect works fine before I leave the store. I checked at the store with climbing one of those ramp thing. Turn on sway bar disconnect, fully extended, turn off the sway bar... both side of tires a couple of times. Each time, the sway bar folded back correctly.

Thanks to "wayoflife" (write-up etc.) and other folks' post here, I got them to make sure re-center the wheel and no ESP problem. As WOL mentioned somewhere, there was no need for longer sway bar links either for Rubicon. I even ask for the guys at 4 Wheel Parts, and they said I don't need them for Rubicon.

We will go to Eastern Washington for hiking tomorrow (or Wed.), and drive some off-road. So, will see how it goes on off-road!

From what I have seen & experienced, it will only malfunction like this if both front tires uniformly come off the ground together at the same rate & height. I don't think the problem will surface on a ramp because there is tension on the swaybar which keeps it from dropping/flexing the wrong way.....I may be wrong on this theory, though....

As for the poster who received a set of swaybar links with their BB kit, lucky you....you didn't have to spend $100 to buy new links.

I'm not happy, however, that this problem exists & Teraflex hasn't addressed it with their previous customers first. It wouldn't be hard to shower the 'net with notices that say they're offering swaybar links, for those with proof of purchases of the BB kit, for cost directly from the factory.

I'm a garage installer & saw this rather large issue as soon as the lift was on it...& they couldn't figure this out while developing it?

If it's true that they're sending out new links with all new BB kits, I'm done buying Teraflex products. To me, that means that they've identified that there's a problem with what's included in their BB kit. And, it shows me that they are thinking that once they've got my money, I'm not a concern.

I'm not trying to railroad them, but come on! Fix the problem...then address who's affected & make it right for them! I've read nothing about this except here & I reported it over a month ago.

Have you tride checking the ruber bushings that hold youre sway bar to the frame. It should have enough grip on youre sway bar to not allow it to drop when fully flexed thus casing it to fold in the wrong direction. I checked mine during my initial instalation worked grate but I dont know if it will become a problem once the bushing wares?

So, are you saying that this will happen with or without your sway bar disconnected then? And, if so, unless you're planning on jumping your jeep, when would expect this condition to occur?

Ummm, this is a "budget boost" we're talking about here isn't it? As in, a basic kit that is cheap and affordable and designed to get your Jeep sitting higher as cheaply as possible. Hell, based on your understand of how things should work, TeraFlex should include a rear track bar relocation bracket, a new adjustable front track bar, new longer front lower control arms and upper adjustable ones as well. After all, without them, you're axles will be off centered and you caster will be off and both can give you other problems with handling and tracking when driving on the highway. Also, what if you don't have a Rubicon and wanted to buy a set of quick disconnects? Should you have to pay for a set of links that you won't need?

Seriously, this is still one of the best and most complete budget boosts available on the market today. And, if you really think you somehow got the raw end of the deal, maybe you should price out some of the some of the other suspension kits available today that come complete with all the components you really should have.

Hey 1BADJK, did this occur just on the one side and not the other? I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure that the swaybar mounts are slotted and if they are, I'm wonding if you could slide the whole thing back just a hair enough to prevent this from occuring.

It doesn't matter if one wheel or both wheels come off the ground it still folds back the wrong way.. I proved this last night flexing on a rock.. You couldn't move the sway bar back far enough.. Due to the fact its the sway bar that is limiting the flex.. As you can see in the pictures the links are actually bent now.. I will just add longer links for now and get a full traction Preminum lift on order.. Just wanted people aware of the issue.. And yes Tera Flex is starting to include extended links in with this kit.. Per Dealer.. I will Call Tera Flex later and see if this is true and see if they will pony up a set or not.. J
