Warrior Cowl Guards..
Water will mix with the fine gravel dust and other grit work like sandpaper under there . Let us know how it's holding up in a few years. If dust gets in , so can other stuff, it needs to be sealed. Our jeeps are gonna rust enough on their own, don't need any extra help.I'm not blasting AEV or anyone, just speak from my own experience with a cj that regularly saw mud, water and sand. Washed about once a month.
I can agree with that, if you clean them , shouldn't have any probs.
How do you take the AEVs off? I thought once they are on thats it?
Those cowl covers are very different. All someone needs is the corners guards if you like armor. Anytime you place a piece of metal over another you are asking for rust. A good way to prove this is the way the factory built the CJ-5 they but steel over steel on the front fenders and thats where they rusted. Along with the rear corners they rusted there too. Back when I restored my CJ-5 I sealed the fenders with a PPG body sealer and it lasts for 25 years. Again the problem is water if it gets between the metals it will still rust out. I believe it's better not to but anything over your body. If you damage your jeep take it to the body shop or just repair it yourself. They say the newer cars are easier to repair body damage than the older ones. The only panel I worry about is the rockers they are the hardest to replace but again they really aren't that hard, just takes time. To fight rust is a battle in it's self and I would help the rust in that battle .
Does anyone know if applying some clear film under them like this might help prevent rust?

What kind do you recommend? Apply it to the armor before I put it on?
