I was considering buying a trailer. So on my last outing I stopped at a hwy scale to weight the Jeep by itself. 5430 lbs 4dr with family and duffle bags! GVWR is only 5500! The only mods I have is 35 inch tires, winch and air intake.
It seems not only is the motor wimpy but the carrying ability of this vehicle is also terribly under designed. I kinda assumed with some of the changes they made from the TJ to the JK that the Jeep Engineers finally figured out that we Jeepers like big tires and mods, turns out the GVWR is more like a mini van than a truck.
