Nitto is really overhyped in this forum, everyone will say nitto
how is nitto over hyped? its a great tire for a great price and out performs the more expensive alternatives. MTR-K is actually over hyped and over priced.

I love the looks and idea of the MTR/K, but lets face it; they seem to be love or hate. Many owners report balance issues and sometimes a road "harmonic" that makes em buzz like hell at 50 MPH. Nittos don't have those reports. Nor do km2s or duratracs.

They aren't. They are popular because they are very good tires.

Since you're going to be racking up the km's on the highway, I'd recommend staying away from a mud terrain tire and going with more of an AT tire. Especially stay away from the MTR/K's. I've had 35" MTR/K's on for the last few years and they don't balance, they haven't worn properly, they're a little sketchy in snow, and there may be even bigger issues resulting from the tread pattern. The look cool, but that's about it. The tread just wasn't well thought out. I recently switched to a set of AT's (Toyo Open Country AT II) and I've been amazed at how much better the ride is. The jeep doesn't feel like a rattling bucket of bolts anymore.
