Paper? not sure what you mean, they come in 8 ply as well as 10 ply sidewall depending on the size you get... no different than the GoodYear Duratrac or Procomp Xtreme MT. Do you have any real-world experience where the sidewall was punctured by a twig or a rose thorn? They may not have kevlar but they perform and ride very well on and off road. They are very quiet and wear very well on most DD situations.

Of course you get what you pay for as far as getting different sidewall ply. I am just pointing out that comparing tires that have the exact ratings and size, the fierce attitude M/Ts have a thinner sidewall and is a lighter tire. Just sharing what I know so others can look into what I'm saying and weigh it out on there final decision. Good luck, I hope you find what is best for you through all our posts!

Default Interco M16

You didn't mention these but I figured what the hell..... I'm running Interco M16 and really like them

I am pretty hard on them in mud and rocks and a lot of highway as well... Very quiet on the road, good on rocks when aired down a bit, slippery on rocks if not aired down. Good in the mud, but they do have a tendency to gum up if you get in a place where you can't spin them clean

My next set will be Pit Bulls.... Just the look is enough for me to buy them

I have the GY MTR/K. Was excited when I got them, thought I got a decent deal.

I won't buy them again for the reasons stated in your post. In the below pic, look at the front driver's side tire. See how the second inner "band" of tread looks like every other block is alternating between "light" and "dark"? That is severe cupping, which seems to accentuate the out of balance and harmonics feelings when driving. You can see the same effect on the passenger side tire also. I don't know if this is a symptom or a cause, all I know is it is an unpleasant to have spent s fair chunk of change on a set of tires that look like this at 5k miles. When I asked the tire shop about this, they said I needed to rotate more often. Fine, I rotated them and while the out of balance feeling went away for now, they roar like crazy now

Will be looking for a different brand when I go to 37's. To the OP, I hope this helps you in your decision making.

I know it's not on the original four list, but why no BFG's?

The bfg's I find are to soft of a tire I've run them on my work trucks and they didn't last no time on the bush roads, and had a side wall cut with less then 1000km on one set.
As for the bfg's that came stock on the rubi I am in awe at how well they are lasting, I've put 25000km on the jeep from aug till now and not even 1/4 wear and that's gravel roads , lots of pavement, wheeling and so on
