Default What Could Be Wrong?

I have an HD OME long travel kit with adjustable track bars. I am running 33's and have had the truck aligned recently. I just had the tires re-balanced and the steering wheel is dead straight. The problem I am expieriencing is a steering wheel shimmer. Not a death wobble but a near constant shimmy in the steering wheel. There is a heavier Teraflex steering stabelizer installed which may be preventing a death wobble...? When I hit bumps in the road, regardless of my speed, the shimmy seems to be a little more pronounced as opposed to just driving on smooth surfaces. Anybody else have this problem?
Thanks

Check to see of track bar bolts are tight.
Maybe wheel bearing?
Maybe ball Joints?

Your tire weight and wheel offset may be beyond your shocks' ability to control ''bounce'' from road conditions. Give the jeep a bounce test, if in doubt, think about heavy duty shocks.....

Hi sig says he has the OME LT shocks They should easilly handle his tires.

I would re-check the torque on all of your arms and the track bars before I do anything else. They may seem tight but if not torqued to 125 ft pounds (trackbar) that can definately cause shimmy or DW.

What was the end result of your caster after your vehicle was aligned? And What Tire pressure are you running?

They shimmy shouldn't cause by the shocks.

Most places will not put enough Castor in aftermarket suspension lifts, Make sure there is about 4-6 degrees of castor in there. We just installed this kit on a 2 door yesterday and it drove awesome customer is very happy!

if u are runnin aftermarket wheels the star washers need to come off that are on the studs. they will give a shimmy because most aftermarket wheels sit flush on rotor and if the washers are there the tire and rim will not sit flush. hope this helps.

ball joints and wheel bearings are good. Tires have about 20,00 miles on em but they are evenly worn and balanced. looks like the caster was just below 4 degrees after the alignment. there is also a brand new Tom Woods drive shaft (front) installed. Goin on a road trip next week and really want the truck to be as tight as it can be. I just dont know what direction to go in...maybe adj. control arms?

If it started after the alighnment, they probably screwed up your toe. That's the only thing for them to alighn besides centering your steering wheel ,and axles w/ adj track bars, unless you have adj arms. Did you have the tires on before or are they new?
