Going over many sound clips & reviews led me to the Magnaflow Cat-Back # 15237 (Over the axle).

Earlier today, on the way to a meeting, a 2-lane road was half blocked by the police, which peaked into each vehicle.
It was a 40mph road, but rush hour, plus the police 'half road block', slowed everybody to about 20mph.
The Police officer gestured me to stop.
Are you in a hurry?"
"No", I said, wearing an expression of 'where did that guy get this idea from?!'...
He smiled and waved me off.

He heard my exhaust, and out of ignorance, related the sound to the exhausts of kids who perform underground races... Conclusion -- it definitely has, ah... 'character', even at slow easy driving...
'Character', and definitely louder than stock, but not too loud.

The Magnaflow # 15237 proved itself to be exactly what I wanted.
Quite silent, until the gas pedal is pressed. Pleasant low tone growl, not too loud, no drone.
All stainless steel.

On my profile, it's under 'Sound System'...

Just installed the afe scorpion high-tuck and replaced my old dynomax dual exhaust. Love the afe much better and seems to give it a little more pep. (I said a little) lol.

Sound is quite a bit better but no droning and rattle like the dynomax.

Installing this on Thursday Afe Part 49-46208 - Mach Force XP Hi-Tuck Cat-Back Exhaust - Fits 2007 to 2011 JK Wrangler and Rubicon - 4 Wheel Drive. Heard good things about afe as far as quality and at $279.99, I thought it was a good value.

After doing some research (dynomax, banks,Afe,magnaflow) and wanting something not to loud , a just a little above the stock sound but some performance when you step on the gas, I found a deal in a whole complete stainless steal system (pipes,Resonator and Muffler) I went to the Amazon Jungle and typed Borla 140214 (only way to get the price I found Do not know why) I got it for $325.00 free shipping !!

If you want the jeep to be louder do not install the Resonator. If you want it even louder only install the resonator and remove the factory muffler. And you get the muffler to sale or trade.

This is for the 3.8L Engine

Borla has a 1 million mile guarantee or basically a lifetime.
Just register the muffler after purchasing on their website

The trick is to type borla 140214. Everyday they lower the price a little the lowest they go is $325 then the price is increase to about $500. And they start all over lowering the price 1 to 2 dollars a day.

here is the link

Todays price 12-10-14 is $458.17

I wonder. Has anyone built a rear bumper with exhaust exiting through it instead of under? Might be a nice way to avoid crushing the tips all the time.

Why weaken a good bumper by drilling a 3"+ hole in it?
Why backup into a muddy step and stuff the tip with mud?
The tip should be slanted downwards, which means an even larger (oval) hole.
Yes, the bumper could be custom strengthened, but there are better exhaust solutions, right out of the box.
My Magnaflow Cat-Back # 15237 ends just behind the axle, higher than the bottom of the axle.
For something to hit it, it should first go through the axle... super protected.
