What first?
Alright, here's my situation: I've got an 07 2 dr and I'm not sure what my first step should be. I've got an xrc8 winch sitting at home but I've been thinking of getting a new bumper so I've been holding off on the install. So this is my question. On a limited budget what should my first step be? New front and rear bumper? New tires? Or something else? I mostly stick to trails and decent mud and it is my dd. any help is appreciated.

I'd have said winch, but you already have it. If you like the look of the factory bumper made into a stubby, have at it and get that winch mounted. Think the stubby kit is $65 and a couple hours of work. Do you need a winch mounting plate? Probably do, so look for one of those.

I am not a fan of the stubby look, I was lookin at a few of the smittybilts that seem pretty decent and I've been having problems trying to find a mounting plate. It's an x
I remember when I was asking myself, whats first? I bought a JK decal and started saving for a lift. But seeing that you already have a winch and no bumper to mount it in, and on a budget, might I suggest an economic but very practical bumper? Bare Bonez bumper is a great bumper and I have known a couple people who run this on their Jeeps.

This is a terrible position to be in hahaha, I've got so many different ideas and ways to go but can't quite stretch the money far enough I've got some duratracs sitting in the shop waiting for some extra money to pop up. And I'm getting very tired of being a "stocker"
That being said I could be okay waiting till winter to put the tires on, that is if I get the winch put on soon enough. Don't like keeping my jeep on pavement this much.

You won't HAVE to do anything - with 200 pounds on the nose you can get by with a pair of spacers to compensate for sag. Not ideal, but maintains factory ride (save the exacerbated brake-diving) and height at minimal cost.
