If you say you are on a low budget look at the Rough Country Hybrid stubby ( i know you said you didn't like the stubby look) but if you have fog lights the bumper for the fogs isn't too stubby. It is very well priced, and light weight so wont weigh down your front end. Also is very easy install. And it was actually designed by members of this forum just a few months ago.

Have to start somewhere if you have the winch just go with getting that sucker on there. Or a nice pair of rock rails with those you can do basically most things. I personally started with the Lift and moved from there, i didn't have the budget to get new tires till the stock rubi tires i had wore worn to crap just a few months ago. So I started where I could.

Good luck on your build!! And welcome to the addiction!

This is kind of what I was looking for in the bumper department but just not sure when in the build I should go for a bumper

And that is open to change for sure it was just a rough idea of what I wanted, for example a few months ago I wanted a bull bar, now I have very little desire after seeing some of the other stuff that is out there. But bottom line I'm just not a fan of the look of stubbys

Anybody else have input on what I should do first or maybe a brand of bumper? I'd like to hear all angles pros and cons.

I'd say go with the front bumper. Check out the Smitty or RR XHD modular bumpers and build them how you want them.

I'd like this first part to be under $1000

Those bumpers are pretty sweet, any idea on the weight?

I have the RR XHD Stubby, it's probably 60ish lbs. They also recently came out with an aluminum version which will help shed a few pounds.
