Default What gears for 33?

I have an 08 Sahara 4 door with 3.73's and looking to go to a 33.1" tire.
Looks like 4.10's put me just a head of stock. OR do they make 4.27/4.30's cause 4.56's seem a bit much

Thanks for the replys!

Edit: I have an auto, and my thought was a rubicon d44 with 4.10;s for the front.....just thinking aloud

I have 33's and 3.21's with a 6 speed. Does ok but sucks wind going up a hill. I am going to go with 4.10's and will be running 35's......If I am figuiring correct, that will put me just ahead of stock.....then again I may end up with 4.56's just be safe. I think if you have an auto you may want 4.56's from what I have read.

I will be following this thread......

Hell, if you're replacing your gears anyway, you should go with 4.88's. Folks I've ridden with told me the 4.56's aren't much different than the 4.10's.

Just something to think about.

BTW I'm running 4.10's with my 33's at up to 10,000 feet and it runs okay.

4.10 with 33's is pretty good as I had this setup for about a year but I have the 6 spd so the rpm range is better on the manual.

I have a '07 Sahara w/ 4.10's and I'm running 34's. I'm really happy with the gas mileage and power. I have the 6spd as welll and only need to drop to 5th for steep inclines. I think you'd be fine with 4.10's.

I would put the 33's on and see how she feels on the road. I have 285/70R17's (skinny 33"'s) and the 3.73 gearing and it is fine.

I am currently running 33" BFG A/Ts with 4.10 Gears, and the manual 6 speed.
My speedo is only 3Km off and everything runs fine, just have to down shift to 5th for uphill.
Ultimatly the choice is up to you, just make sure that you are going to be happy with it. No point in selecting a gear set that may not be what you want.

33's with 3.73's and a 6 spd. No complaints at all other than the occasional downshift up a big hill.

X2....no complaints with 33x12.5 tire with the 3:73 and 6speed... .just like riverzendz i just have to down shift a gear or 2 on steep mountain passes.
