Just something to think about.

BTW I'm running 4.10's with my 33's at up to 10,000 feet and it runs okay.
i couldn't agree more. i ran my tj with 33's and 4.88's for about a year and loved the extra power i got out of them. plus, when you upgrade to 35's like i know you will, you'll be ready for them

X2. I wouldn't mind a little more oomph from the engine, but the 4.10s do okay. Having said that, you could probably come up with 4.10s for a song from someone here on the forum. If you do the install yourself, you could be out very little more than your time and the cost of that song even if it doesn't work out for you.

I have a 2007 unlimited with 4.10s and 33x12.50x17 tires/wheels with a 6 speed. So far it seems to be a good combination for the driving that I do.

I would say if you're going to spend money on gears go for a little more than you think you'll need right now. I'm studying the situation myself and am thinking 4.88's with my 6-speed and new 33.1's. I currently have 3.21 gears and after putting a couple hundred miles on this set-up it's clear an upgrade is in order, and will move up on my priority list sooner than anticipated.

Good luck.

ccwbrd has an auto. It's a world of difference from the 6 speeds you all are talking about. Six speed or not, I bet once you start adding stuff to your JK, you're not going to be bragging about your 3.21's anymore.

BTW I have 33's, an auto and 4.10's at 10,000 feet and it's not running okay anymore. I've crossed the threshold of too many mods, too much weight and dreams of 35's. I'm going to make an appointment for some 5.13's.
