What modifications void JK warranty.
I brought that up...that other dealerships sell the Jeeps with 4" lifts and say they will cover it.
Dealership said that is correct, they will with the current management, but try that 2 or 3 years down the road after the stealership has gone through two or three service managers. The old saying...service is here today when you buy and gone tomorrow. Chrysler would not cover a part failing due to the lift if they knew about it, even if the dealership put the lift on.
I would be willing to bet that anyone who purchased a 4" lifted jeep on 35" tires from a dealership got any sort of signed document from the dealer saying the modifications and everything tied to it was covered under Chrysler warranty for life. Without that, you have no leg to stand on.
Im also good friends with a Service Advisor for Jeep. The bottom line is, the dealer can approve any fix they want because Chrysler does not see the problem...they take the word of the dealership that it's a good warranty claim. In other words...Chrysler has no idea the Jeep is lifted. That's how they slip the lifted Jeeps through. If they like you, or if you purchased the Jeep from them lifted, they are more willing to stick their neck out for you and fix the problem. If Chrysler ever found out, the dealership would eat the cost of the repair.

I was a service manager for a Dodge and Jeep dealership and had issues like this come up. I was always told by my rep that unless the problem was directly related to the modification it would not be covered. If it was a faliure due to any other problem should be covered. So remeber a lift should only cause warranty problems if faliure of part or problem with teuck is directly related to modification.
well...im new to the site.....ill tell you that it definately depends on the dealership......do you have 5 star dealers in the u.s.
a 5 star dealer has the authority to warrantee an item between 3 and15000
without calling chrysler.......they put me on a compete warrantee restriction
after my control arm bracket failed........which they missed in a 4 time repair
compaint of my crooked steering.....the dealer put the lift and tires on.......
i sold my jeep and now bought from a 5 star dealer that tells me....he will
help as much as possible......but.....the new jeeps need much less to lift to the 35 inch tire clearance that i want and are built tougher......i know that it is still gonna be a matter of beefing up control arms ect....
i am going to court nov. 12 and i will let you know what happens....

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act:
I had to use this when I installed an aftermarket stereo to my last show car (2002 Chrysler Prowler) and the windshield wipers quit working. They said that because I installed this stereo I had voided my extended electrical warranty. I had installed it with the power coming from the exact same power source as the factory stereo and did not tap anything else. I sent a copy of the Magnuson-Moss to the regional manager of the dealership via certified mail with notice of my intent to take legal action if I have not heard received approval for the warranty service within 3 days. The dealership manager called on day 2 and appologized for the "Error" and said to bring it in. I told him that because of the "Error" I was going to be without a vehicle until mine was repaired (Lie) and they needed to supply me a free loaner car. I drove around for 3 days in a S500 Mercedes that they had on the lot and didnt spend a dime on gas....
If your dealership is trying to screw you, get it in writing if you can. Then you have something to throw in their face for acting illegaly if push comes to shove.
