Uppers and lowers will get your wheel base back.
- lowers only = caster/pinion
- uppers only = caster pinion
- uppers and lowers = center axle (lowers) uppers to adjust for caster/pinion.

You don't want to throw money around if not needed. Install the lift and see how the jeep drives. IMO a highsteer setup is not needed 2.5-3" of lift.

Center the axle (left/right) with a adjustable track bar and if needed lowers for caster. Go from there. Don't over think this it will drive you mad
what do you mean by, "your drivability is a mess?" did installing the high steer help much? and how so?

Caster is your steering wheel return to center and decreases the higher the lift. The jeep will want to wander all over the road-less stable.

Drag link flip runs the DL and TB back parallel which eliminates bumpsteer.

Bumpsteer+wander+2 door=no fun

right now i have 2.5" lift and my steering feels fine. so maybe i should just throw the new coils in and lca's and see how it drives?

I don't have 3 inches of bumpstop in the front so maybe i should install that when throwing the new coils in...

when did you notice the sloppy steering the most? highway only? all the time?

sorry for all the questions...

Both highway and city. The roads here are crappy so that doesn't help. If you are running all highway/flat roads bumpsteer shouldn't be a problem.
.

You're on the right track

This may sound like a dumb question but, what does bumpsteer feel like?

Bump steer can be many different things, could be if you hit a low spot or hole in the road it will shoot you in one direction or the other or it could be the shimmy or shake in the steering wheel when you hit a bump I got 4" running 35"s and the worst mine does is lane wander

Thanks. So far so good. I'll install the new coils and go from there.

Welcome.

The reason you get varying answers as to which to do first. ie uppers, lowers, flip kit, etc. is that it seems like no two JKs respond to lifting the same. Some folks have zero issues at 4" of lift while some have fairly big issues at only 2.5". There truly is no rhyme or reason. It is some what trial and error when you get to 3"+ and don't get a kit with "everything."

Report back with how things go.
