Linex is the toughest but if you have other bumpers you can texture and color match also you can do a zinc enriched coating which will help keeping it from chipping and scratching so forth with a powder coat also you can color match your jeep with the powder coat to i would never really suggest painting it it scratches and chips to easily especially if you wheel

You can use line x without having the textures look. Just get to with a sander after every coat. You get the strength and scratch resistance, and a smooth finish. Best of both worlds in my book!

you better be using a belt sander if you think you are going to sand down Line-x

In this exact same boat with the same bumper even. Really leaning toward line-x.

I used some VHT roll bar and chasis rattle can paint on some of the stuff I have. It is very durable and easy to touch up after scraping on some big boulders. I havent had "line x" But, I am thinking that even line x will scrape off if your bumper comes in contact with some big rocky ledges like mine has. And VHT roll bar and chasis coating is a mere fraction of the cost.

had the bumper on my previous Jeep...I used Rustoleum spray on bed-liner. I sprayed about 4 coats, and it looked amazing. The nice thing is its cheap, its quick and easy to do, and doesnt collect dirt.

Just did my JCR last night. 4 coats of rustoleum light grey primer, and 3 coats of rustoleum black hammered.

My bumpers come in on Thursday and I am going to do the Rustoleum Primer/Bedliner on Friday. Figured at $25 for a few coats how could I go wrong? If I don't like it or it isn't durable I just get it sandblasted off and pay the money for powdercoating. But if I spend a few hundred dollars for powdercoating and it isn't durable I am out a lot more money. $25 and my time and easy touch up sounds like the plan (for now)...
