Default What is the right back space for XD HOSS

I made up my mind about My search for wheels
I am going with the black XD HOSS in a 17",I will be going with an AT tire,
Probably the Cooper ST in a 275-70-17
Most tires this size are 32.2x11x17.
I do not have a lift,I load the Jeep quite a bit for camping trips +4 people,
ocasionally I rent a pop up so it lowers to about 1 1/2 to 2" inches
They have 2 models of Hoss
Which should I get?
One is 17x9 in a 4.5" backspace and -12 offset the other
one is 17x9 ina 5.71 backspace and +18 offset.I have seen the chart and I still can not understand it sorry.
Thank In advance

I would get 4.5" backspace. This will allow you to run up to a 12.5 inch wide tire. I have the addicts myself in same size and backspacing and I am running37's at 12.5 inches wide. If you are going to just stay stock-ish tires which is approximately what you have right now and if you have no plans in going bigger then go with the 5.71.

What would be the difference besides if I go with bigger tires.
How much would either one stick out of the fenders?
My only worry is would the 4.5" stick out too much, and if it would rub hitting bumps?
From what I have seen on some pics here almost everyone has a 4.5" backspace.
They do not seem to stick out too far.

I'll throw a wrench in the mix and say get the 5.71" backspacing. The ball joints on the JK are crappy enough with the factory backspacing. Running 4.5" backspacing moves the wheels almost 2" further out that stock, putting that much more stress on the ball joints.

I was wondering about backspacing also, some members here say that to clear 11"
tires you will need a backspace of 4.5"

I have the 17" XD Addict's on my Jeep with the 4.5" back space. The back space is perfect!

4.5, check mine out in previous post. I have same Jeep as you and you can get an idea. Other than center caps flacking chrome they are awesome, painted cap on spare so will see how it holds up before I do rest.

Looks good but you have a lift and bigger tires, they seem to stick out quite a bit, maybe because of the tires.
