Default What skid plates do I need?

Did a search but most relevant info was in 07'. I'm just completing 4.5 re long arm, arb front/rear bumper, rock rails, 35" tires, procomp wheels and regear to 5.13. The shop doing the work thinks I'm ok as far as undercarriage protection. What should I be doing in terms of skid plates to provide effective under-carriage protection?

Thanks

I'm running a similar setup.

You definitely want some kind of gas tank protection because it's a huge rock magnet. I have the rockhard and am pleased with it.

With the RE kit you can't reuse the factory engine/tranny skid, so I'd recomment purchasing an aftermarket one. The one made by skidrow bolts right up. The rockhard one requires some modifications when used with the RE longarm.

Definitely relocate the Evap with a Woods kit. www.4xfix.com user: jeep, pass: forum.

I have the rockhard oil/trans skid and gas tank skid, they are both very nice. I dont have a long arm kit, so I dont know how they would work for you.

I'm running the Rockhard evap. canister skid. I didn't want to relocate it in fear of problems with the CEL and the dealer.

It's decent but pricey and I had to modify it to fit. Definitely quality stuff though.

I just ordered the Rockhard oil pan/tranny skid.

Default any other suggestions?

OK,

So far the areas I need to protect underneath, and recommended products, are:

1) front including elect swaybar disconnect (expedition one??)
2) engine, oil, transmission and exhaust (skid row)
3) gas tank - (rock hard)
4) evap cannister (prefer to protect rather than relocate) - rock hard

Anything else that might not be protected?

For option 4 the evap canister is not only vunlerable but once you add the skid you will further decrease your clearance. That damn thing should of never have been placed there to start with. Relocating it also give you the option to get your muffler up and out of the way. Just a thought.

If you put your muffler where your evap can was, then doesnt that defeat most of the purpose of relocating in the first place? Just a thought.

Default Skids

Control arm skids, Rancho, Kilby shock skids. All this protection may not be necessary. It depends on how hard core you are going to go. If your sliding over rocks every weekend protect your investment, if you’re not save the coin
