The top center dash panel was removed to install the Daystar model. Unfortunately one of the clips/retainers that you are supposed to reuse on the Daystar model to secure it fell down inside the dash. Does anyone know the exact name of these clips/retainers and perhaps the size? Not sure if the dealer sells these individually or if hardware/car parts store sell these.

Last time I checked they will NOT sell them seperate.

Best to buy a new top dash panel. Comes with new clips and costs less than $10 (I think)

The panel cost $37.80 from the dealer +tax
If you can get the clips that would be the deal

This happened to me as well. the mopar part # they give you in the daystar pamphlet for the clips is wrong I got one from my local dealer and it was different and cost me 4 bucks I ended up using a honda clip that I had in my toolbox and it holds tighter than the factory one did

$15.60? You are getting ripped off. Try another dealer or try JustForJeeps web site. P/N 1FQ641DVAB (part number confirmed in 2008 master parts list) sells for $9.09. The OEM catalog has it listed at $4.18 - I think that's dealer's cost.

If you can get the Daystar panel for that price, then it's a good deal.

There was a similar thread on this topic awhile back. Thats when I bought mine for $5.70 from my Jeep dealer at regular Joe cost ........

Found an option other than the Daystar............. discountjeepparts.com
