Warn M8000

 

Superwinch Talon 9500 lb. damn thing was frozen into "unengaged" last night while we were out wheeling in the mountains. Was stuck at a 45 degree up angle in clay on a mountain in Vermont. Buddy finally got handle to move smacking it with a rock...the old hit it to solve problem move.

 

That's not good. Especially with what they cost. Off subject did yours end up needing the new remote? They said mine was ok...

 

They went ahead and sent me a new remote but it was the "classic" remote with one toggle, not the "talon" one. Not sure if I was supposed to get a new talon.

Regarding stuck handle it was a rough couple of minutes. I had GoPro recording the whole time and I'm pretty sure I can't show the video to the kids LOL.

 

That's strange. When I spoke with them they acted like they were sending the same remote, with the "fixed" part. According to my serial # my remote is fine, so they say. I actually liked the old (epi) remote better. Doesn't feel like a tv remote lol

 

maybe he was confused when I talked to SW rep. But, to echo your feeling, I gotta say that the old one he sent me worked just fine. Up and down one button. No complications. Either way, figure I should ask about the handle sticking. Thinking maybe I overtightened when I pulled in the line last time and it was hung up. Not sure.

 

Not sure...I talked to Jason. You might call him and make sure he sent you the right one because he specifically told me it was the exact same remote, with a fix
