Buy a 4" lift kit with arms, on a deal "you couldn't pass up" and then remind her that you need tires because they are required for your and her safety.

In all seriousness:

Why is there a budget constraint? She shouldn't limit your money, unless you have a joint bank account and she earns some of it.

Here's what I would do:

- Teraflex 2.5" Budget Boost with shock adaptors (run stock if you want)
- keep your rims and get some spidertrax spacers
- get some 33 inch tires

Should be right around 1300 if you do the labor yourself. A lot of this stuff is floating around the forum sale section for great prices.

I agree with the Rubi take-offs or 33's, but then why not just a Teraflex Leveling Kit? Then use the rest of the $$$ for a Superchips Flashpaq and other assorted accessories and/or mods.

Default tires

I would go with something like the Falken wildpeak at they are nice not a mudder but so much quiter and smoother I amrunning the 285 70 17 on stock rims with rugged rideg wheel spacers but read the posts on wheel spacers and check them out for your self.

anyone have actual measurements of 33's, and a leveling kit? im now beginning to wonder if it will even fit through the garage door.

i would get a BB but i want to get good tires over a bigger lift.

i did consider the options of going bigger lift and rubi take off, so i wouldn't spend that much, but i feel like 32's and a 2.5" BB is too small. maybe i'll just go with a leveling kit and Rubi take offs..

keep the options coming! this is helping me get more ideas!

fyi, my girlfriend takes care of our finances. we live together and share our bank accounts.

No actual measurements for the lift/tire combo (haven't ordered mine quite yet). But the front is lifted 2" higher than stock with the leveling kit, and then give yourself another additional inch for the 33" tire (standard Rubicon tires are 32", not sure what the X's are). You shouldn't have any problem getting into a standard garage door, unless you have a nonstandard door height. (Most doors are 7' or 8' high)
But to alleviate any other issues before you drop some serious funds, I'd just drive halfway into the garage and see what sort of clearances you have between the top of your Jeep and the bottom of the garage door opening.

Good luck!

You shouldn't have any problems with a standard garage door. I have 3.5" and 37s and clear no prob.
