Default What would you do?

Ok, so I just bought a '13 JKU Sport with factory wheels and 285/70/17's on it. The tires are rubbing at full turn. Everything else is stock with 3.73, manual trany, and no bells and whistles

I have $750 and am not sure how to use it.

I am thinking of spending $200 on SpiderTrax 1.5 spacers, and around $300 or so on rock rails, and saving the rest for a 2.5 in lift.

If you had this amount, in my situation, how would you spend it? Does this sound good, or do you have a better way for me to maximize my first (of many) jeep investments.

Thanks

Sarge

Go with the Spidertrax spacers1.5 and call it a day. I run spacers myself 61k now and no problems.

How bad are they rubbing? If they are just barely rubbing you might be able to adjust your steering stop. Then you could get the rock sliders and save the rest for your lift.

Keep an eye on the for sale section. You can pick up a used set of spacers for half of that with a lot of people upgrading from stock wheels.

If it's hitting the plastic airdam, that can easily be trimmed with tin snips. I cut mine after the first indent ( about 6/7 inches in from the ends). I also use the spidertrax spacers, if you go that route remember loctite is your best friend.

Buy the lift, adjust the steering stop if possible, save up for 35's and rims with a better backspacing. You're gonna want those 35's eventually

I'd go with spacers. For me I like the OE look with a wider stance.

What would I do?
No spacers, adjust those stops out a little. If it still rubs the plasticrap piece under the front bumper take it off. I took mine off long ago, looks way cooler anyway.
Get the sliders and install
Save you monies for your lift, when its time sell off the stocker wheels/tires and buy what you want to go with the lift. 35s always a good choice

I think that's a good plan. That way you are set up down the road for bigger tires. Check the classifieds on thus forum and craigslist for the rock rails. I picked up mine for $100
