Default Wheel clearance concerns

I have concerns with my current clearance between my rear wheel wells and edge of body. I currently have 2 Door Rubi with Hardtop. Flatties and a TF 2.5 coil lift running 35x12.5x17 with 1.5 spacers on stock Rubi rims. Most everything I read about this lift says clears 35's but I am not sure when fully flexed it looks like it would hit the rear edge.

In another thread I asked a similar question. I have 3.5" of lift and 35" Goodyear Kevlars. I was told by the shop who put the lift on that I would have to trim that corner of metal in front of the rear wheel. When I posed the question here, no one with a similar set-up has had clearance issues. I'm gonna be wheeling in a couple weeks to put the clearance question to rest one way or another for me. Till then, I'm not cuttin.

Ever thought of using a jack to lift a rear tire till it is completely stuffed? This can be done safely in your driveway under controlled circumstances.

You will need to either cut or bend back the pinch seam in front of the rear tire.
You might be able to avoid that if you added rear lower adjustable control arms to push the axle back a bit.

I'm running 35" x12.5" mtr-k and definitely had to trim the pinch seem at the front of the rear wheel well. Very easy to do, took about 5 minutes total time to measure and cut with a sawsall, and then 10 minutes to spray a few coats of Rustoleum on the cut area... of course this was after 2 week time anxious and worried about doing it. Glad I did!

It gets better, if you have Rubicon rock rails you might need to trim 2" off the end by that same pinch seem... at least I had to trim them on my unlimited.

Ok great I thought I read that somewhere about it moves it rearward.

When you cut the seam did you reweld the open space left behind to restrenghen the open seam or is that not needed?!?

When a person adds these control arms, are longer drive shafts needed also?!? I was told if I stay under 2.5 lift I should be fine?!?

I cleared the pinch seam by 1/8th of an inch with no lift, 35 inch duratracs, and flat flares. I was able to stuff into the wheel well so hard my tires squeaked on the inner liner.

Never touched the pinch seam.
