Just to add a little more clarity - backspacing and off set go hand-in-hand to some degree but are not the same thing.
Some sites and stores (mostly those servicing all types of cars, not just off road/jeeps) will use offset more often.
Others, especially off-road focused sites will give back spacing.
For your jeep, if you go with an 8 or 9" wide rim, you will want to have 4.5" or less (ie, 4.25", 4" etc) Backspacing. Note that 4.5" backspacing on a 9" wheel will have your tires extending beyond your fender flare by about 1.5" - if you were go use a wheel with 4" of backspacing, they would stick out another .5"
As for the offset, a 9" wide wheel with 4.5" of backspacing will have a -12 offset.
An 8" wide wheel with 4.5" of backspacing will have 0 offset.
Hope this helps!

Thanks
I was trying to figure out the exact meaning of Offset -12, 0, 10 etc as opposed to backspacing.
Now I know.
Why don't wheel companies just list the backspacing and help us out?
