Default Wheel Size

I am looking for some new tires/wheels. I read that a 4.5in backspacing is best, but the cragar soft 8s in 16" are either 4 or 5. Which of the following would work best, I have a 2.5" lift.

Tire- BFG All Terrain KO 315/75/16

Wheels - Cragar Soft 8s
16x8 5 inch BS
16x7 4 inch BS

17x8 4.5 inch BS

Question

After some more looking around I dont think costco will even mount the 315 on the 16x7 rim. BFG suggest at least an 8" rim.

Will I have any problem with the 5" backspacing on the 16x8 rim? I have a 2.5 lift and would like to go without spacers if possible.

"Q: What back spacing will I need on my wheels in order to clear 12.50 wide tires?
A: I would recommend that you do not exceed 4.75" of back spacing and even at that, you may still have some minor rubbing up front at a full turn. Also, I would recommend that you do not go any less than 3.75" as anything less would cause your tires to stick out very far past the fender flares. Any back spacing within this range should work out great."

I'm hopefully going to put some 16x8 w/ 5" BS on this weekend. With 315/75/16 tires. I'll let you know how it goes. If not this weekend then next for sure.

I would suggest going with the 17x8 with 4.5" bs... I had the 16x8 w/5" bs and had some rubbing issues with the 12" wide tire..

I have since changed wheels and now running the 17x8 Cragar soft 8 w/4.5" bs and a 12.5" wide tire and no issues at all...

Where were you getting the rubbing?

x2 on the rubbing. Is it turning or full flex stuff? What lift setup do you have and what type of 35" tires were they?

Sorry for all the questions, I really do not want to go 17". The higher price of rims/tires throws the upgrade way above my budget.
