Default Wheel Spacers

Anyone know of any wheel spacer horror stories? I got a guy trying to talk me out of running them. Says he hears all the time about someone losing a tire. I am running 35s on wheels minimal back spacking, and they rub on the street at full lock. I have a nearly new set sitting in the garage wanting to be put on.

Thanks

You'll wanna get ones that bolt directly to your hub(Spidertrax, Teraflex,RC) Not cheapo thin spacers that sandwhich between the rim and hub and just make your stud shorter. Those are the ones with the horror stories. I've had spidertrax on my rig for over 50,000m no probs whatsoever.

Just installed a set of spidertrax last week - checked the torque couple days later and they were still as solid as when they were put on. Have not come across anyone using these that has had any issues that I know of. Very good product!

I have seen plenty of wheels fall off with the thin junk spacers that slide over your wheel studs but IMO if installed to the correct torque the bolt on type are as safe as factory. I used spidertrax for 2 years until I bought new wheels.

I've had a lot of spacers in numerous vehicles without a problem, however the few times I've lost a wheel while driving (I think Three) did not have spacers on so I could actually think that spacers are safer

I've been running the Rough Country 1.5" spacer for over 26k with no issues. I just rechecked the torque specs while changing out my break pads and rotating the tire. Still tight at 90flbs. I highly recommend them.
