Default wheel spacers

I run Spidertraks for over a year (12500 miles) with No trouble or problems. I rotate my own wheels as no shop I have found will touch them, they say safety reasons.

About 7000 miles on Spidertrax spacers. No problems at all. Next rotation I'm just going to put the yellow paint on the threads and stop putting a wrench on them. I'm not saying re-torquing will break the thread locking compound, but if they aren't moving, why bother them?

Here is my pre-edit post:

With 35s, if you have 5" or less backspaced wheels, just adjust your steering stops to avoid rubbing on a full lock turn.

The Spidertrax spacers work great, and if correctly maintained, they are completely safe.

However, if you have 4.5" backspaced wheels and run 1.5" wheel spacers, that will put you at 3" net wheel backspacing. This is totally unnecessary with 35s. I run this combination with 40s on my 2 door--4.5" backspaced wheels with 1.5" Spidertrax wheel spacers.

Here is the write-up on adjusting your steering stops:

As long as you have 5" or less backspaced wheels, sell the wheel spacers to someone with stock wheels and use the proceeds for something else.
Appreciate your post. The spacers I have are the billet aluminum with studs pressed in. Granted they would give me 1/2 in more back spacing than required, but from the sounds of it I have nothing to fear if installed correctly. For now to avoid rub I have been making sure I dont turn clear to lock either direction. I have avoided situations that would require it. I think this weekend the spacers are going on with loctite red and correct torque and just check the periodically. Thanks for everyones input.

A friend that owns a tire shop had a customer come in with a broken wheel spacer. They were purchased off of ebay. They were no name wheel spacers. Only get spider trex, teraflex, RC, Etc. This is the second story I have heard about the Ebay no name spacers.
