Default Wheel Spacers

I have 17x9in wheels with 4.75 backspace. Looking to purchase 1.5in spacers to help 37s fit better. Any reason not to run spacers with aftermarket wheels?

Searched as much as possible and cant find any clear reasoning on this

Maybe...

Wheel spacers are hub centric, and the odds are that the aftermarket wheels are not. This will put too much stress on the spacer.

I'd *not* do it. Just get wheels with the correct backspacing.

Not sure but wouldnt the resultant 3 1/4" backspacing be pretty hard on the unit bearings? Maybe a smaller size spacer would be better? Hopefully someone with experience will chime in.

Hub centric, non hub centric. Won't make a difference. The non hub centric wheel will just clamp and align solely on the lugs, just like it would on a normal hub. The "stress" will be the same as the same wheel on the hub/unit bearing.

As long as the spacer is properly torqued it isn't an issue in the least bit.

Yup, they'll be sticking out there, and yes it "more stress" on the unit bearing, but they can handle it. I've been running that little BS for almost 2 years, hard. There are a few guys running 5x5 to 5x5.5 adapters betting around 2" BS with no issues. Gives you a hell of a scrub radius too, making tuning easier lol

37's should fit fine with the backspacing you currently have.

If the steering is limited, sure.

Went with 1.5in spacers from Poison Spyder. Trimmed the pinch seem some and everything works fine on 3in of lift
